Maple syrup is a natural sweetener made by boiling the sap of sugar, black, or red maple trees. It takes about 40 gallons of raw sap to produce just 1 gallon of syrup. The boiling process concentrates the natural sugars and creates the syrup's signature rich, caramel-like flavor.
